NOTICE
The MARIO OLMOS CHILDREN’S WAITING ROOMS WILL CLOSE

Effective July 1, 2009

The YMCA, which for years has contracted with the Court for Children’s Waiting Room supervision services, has informed the Court that it must cancel all of its contracts. As a result, and until a new Service Provider is hired, the Court cannot provide child care services at the Main Courthouse, Family Support Division in the County Plaza Building, or Dependency Court Building on the Fulton Mall.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please make arrangements for child care when visiting any of the sites listed above beginning July 1, 2009.

Mario Olmos Children's Waiting Rooms

For Children up to 16 years of age, the Superior Court of California, County of Fresno is pleased to offer the services of the Mario Olmos Children's Waiting Rooms. The children’s waiting room was the dream of the late Superior Court Judge Mario G. Olmos who believed that there should be a safe, nurturing and protective environment for young children to wait while parents conduct court business. The children’s waiting rooms are located in the main courthouse, the dependency and family support court facilities. This is a free service for those who have court business in the Court, including: jurors, defendants, witnesses, litigants, persons filing papers, using Family Court Services or the Family Law Facilitators Office. The children’s waiting rooms are a community outreach project and are operated by YMCA of Fresno County, an organization with 30 years of childcare experience.
